Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Wednesday rejected two Republican picks to hitch the choose committee investigating the lethal Jan. 6 Capitol invasion by a mob of former President Donald Trump’s supporters.
Pelosi in a assertion stated that she needed to reject GOP Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana, “with respect for the integrity of the investigation” and “with an insistence on the reality and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these Members.”
Jordan and Banks have been two of the 5 Republican lawmakers picked for the committee by Home Minority Chief Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
Pelosi’s assertion stated she advised McCarthy she would appoint the opposite three Republicans, and “requested that he advocate two different Members” to exchange Jordan and Banks.
