Dolores Claman, the composer behind the previous Hockey Night time in Canada theme tune, has died at 94.
Claman’s daughter Madeleine Morris says her mom died in Spain this week, about two years after she was recognized with dementia.
Claman was working for Maclaren Promoting in 1968 when she was employed to jot down the theme tune that opened CBC’s Hockey Night time in Canada broadcasts.
Claman, who was born in Vancouver, can be identified for co-writing A Place To Stand with its common “Ontari-ari-ari-o” lyric for the 1967 Expo.
Morris says her mom liked travelling and admired the gardens within the U.Ok.’s Regent’s Park, so she’s going to scatter her ashes on the park and within the Mediterranean.
